WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Thursday, May 23, 2024, the House Budget Committee held a hearing titled “Breaking Up Health Care Monopolies: Examining the Budgetary Effects of Health Care Consolidation.” The Coalition for Patient-Centered Care (CPCC) submitted a statement for the hearing record, describing private equity firms’ harmful impact on the healthcare system and how private equity firms’ actions have a direct and significant negative impact on federal government spending and, in turn, all American taxpayers.
