Washington D.C. – On Friday July 29, 2024, the Coalition for Patient-Centered Care (CPCC) submitted a comment to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Request for Information on Corporate Consolidation Through Serial Acquisitions and Roll-Up Strategies.
In the submission, several CPCC members share their individual experience in testimonials. These testimonials highlight the importance of independent physician practices, as well as the harmful effects of private equity (PE) acquisitions of independent physician groups. The CPCC submission also includes recommendations for agency action in this space.
We commend the FTC and DOJ for conducting this joint public inquiry and look forward to continuing to engage with these agencies on policy and enforcement solutions that will help address the Coalition’s PE-related concerns.
