On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, CPCC member R. James Toussaint, M.D. testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Policy. At the hearing titled “Banning Noncompete Agreements: Benefits for Workers, Business, and the Economy,” Dr. Toussaint testified about the impact of private equity in healthcare and how it relates to noncompete agreements which “negatively impact patient access to physicians, limit the quality of care and increase cost to all parties.”
